MovinSupport is now self-hosted under a renewable license

MovinSupport now runs fully self-hosted under a renewable license — every feature included, nothing metered, no hosted plans. See it working first: the live demo is the real widget, no signup and no card.

Gradient announcement card: MovinSupport, self-hosted under a renewable license

As of last week, every new MovinSupport install is self-hosted under a renewable license. There are no hosted plans, no metered tiers, and no trial that starts at checkout. You acquire a license, run it on your own infrastructure, and everything is included — nothing metered. And before you acquire anything, we'll set up a demo for you.

Here's the honest version of why we dropped hosted plans. Our product has never had a free tier — that's by design. But that framing made the first thing a new customer met feel like a paywall, before the product had said a word for itself. We didn't like that first impression, so we replaced it: the product is open-source (MIT) and self-hosted under a renewable license, and the demo is the real widget, not a mockup.

The demo is the whole product, not a preview

The demo runs the actual product, not a stripped-down version. Every feature — answers grounded in your knowledge base with citations, an honest escalation to your team when it can't help, and a team inbox with AI-written summaries — works the way it will under your license. There's no demo mode, no locked features, no "upgrade to unlock" halfway through.

That matters because of what the demo is actually enough for. Install is one script tag, and most teams are live in about five minutes. Point the agent at your docs and knowledge sources, and it starts answering your real customers — escalating to your team instead of guessing when it can't. By the time you're back from the demo you're not evaluating our product anymore. You're deciding whether to license something that's already handling your support.

Why we don't ask for a card

We don't ask for a card, and we'd rather explain that than hide it.

There's no trial to meter, so there's nothing to charge and nothing to cancel. The live demo runs in your browser with no signup at all. When you're ready, the renewable license renews monthly or yearly by invoice — there's no automatic card metering and no usage meter to watch. We carry the risk of you trying MovinSupport. You don't.

When you're ready to license

Acquiring a license is the whole product. Everything is included: every feature, unlimited AI responses, nothing metered. The license renews monthly or yearly by invoice — no contracts, no automatic card charges, no metering. And because the code is open source (MIT) and you self-host, your data stays on your own infrastructure. You don't lose coverage at renewal time; the license simply continues on the cadence you picked.

Stack that up and the arrangement is deliberately lopsided in your favor. A renewable license with everything included, a demo before you decide, renewals by invoice instead of card metering. We carry the risk of you trying MovinSupport. You don't.

Already licensed?

One thing we want to be straightforward about: there are no tiers to switch between, so nothing restarts. The renewable license is a single product with everything included — if you're already with us, renewing monthly or yearly is the only choice, and moving to yearly applies whenever you like.

We think that's the fair version. A license isn't a loop to be replayed; it just keeps the product running on your infrastructure, your keys, your data.

Self-hosting under a renewable license

The open-source side hasn't changed. MovinSupport is open source (MIT) and self-hosted under a renewable license — bring your own LLM keys and run the whole thing on your own infrastructure. There are no hosted plans; the license gets you the same product, supported, with everything included and nothing metered.

How to start

  1. See it working first, with no signup. The live demo is the real widget running in your browser — open it and ask it something.
  2. Acquire a license on /pricing. The renewable license — everything included, nothing metered. Renew monthly or yearly; there are no per-seat or per-resolution fees. We'll set up a demo for you before you decide.
  3. Drop in the script tag. One script tag on your site; most teams are live in about five minutes. Then let it take your real conversations.

Questions you might have

Why is there no free tier?

Because a paywalled path was never the point. The product is open source (MIT) and self-hosted under a renewable license, so the cost is your infrastructure plus your LLM API bill — not a metered subscription. See it live first with the demo, then license only if it earns its place.

What happens when the license renews?

Your license renews monthly or yearly by invoice, automatically, with no metering and no usage caps. There are no contracts, and you can stop renewing whenever you like — your data stays yours on your own infrastructure.

Does usage cost anything?

No. Everything is included under the renewable license — unlimited AI responses, no per-seat or per-resolution fees, nothing metered. Your only variable cost is your own LLM API bill.

How do I see the product before licensing?

We'll set up a demo for you — the live widget runs in your browser with no signup, no card, and no trial. It's the real product, not a mockup.

Is self-hosting still free?

Yes — self-hosting is the model now. The code is open source (MIT), you run it on your own infrastructure with your own LLM keys, and the renewable license keeps it supported, everything included, nothing metered.

Start wherever you're comfortable

There's a ladder here, and you can stop on any rung. Try the live demo with no signup at all. When you're curious what it does with your docs and your customers, we'll set up a demo for you. And if your support agent already feels like yours — that's the point at which acquiring the license is the easy decision.
